Mentoring and Mental Health Support - a 360° approach

Mentoring and Mental Health - a 360° approach works to improve each client’s sense of self by providing mentoring support services that positively affect the client’s mental health through the promotion and integration of emotional, physical, and mental well-being. Participants will receive one-on-one and group activities to support the overall goal of mental wellness, in addition to, the integration of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) activities.

This program will work to develop social and emotional habits, as well as, understandings that allow its participants to achieve and maintain lasting improvements in their sense of self and mental health. Mentoring and Mental Health - a 360° approach also includes academic coaching which can help students gain skills to adequately manage academic stresses, in addition to, addressing stressors surrounding the classroom environment due to learning gaps/challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

We will guide each participant to identify areas within their lives that have adversely affected their mental health, and equip them with tools to move through and beyond these areas.

The program serves to strengthen the mind, body, and spirit. This program will not just work to improve the participants overall attitude and approach to life, we also aim to positively affect mental health, confidence, and moral stability.

Curriculum Outline

Emotional Management

With modalities such as small group discussions, meditation, breath work, journaling, and Q&A, students will learn how to achieve self and social awareness, self management, and emotional stability.

Within the emotion management component, students will also learn to determine their emotions separate from others while implementing effective strategies to reduce reactivity, anxiety, and depression.


Goal (Intention) Setting

Students will learn the power of intention setting and work to form habits that teach them how to direct their thoughts and energy toward positive outcomes. They will learn how to set goals and work towards accomplishing those goals with the confidence that they will achieve those goals.


Social/Culture Exposures

Students will be exposed to social and cultural activities that will help them broaden their scope of life and help them refine their vision for their future and current life which can help reduce stresses that they may hold for the future.


Academic Coaching

Students will receive academic coaching to help with school work management and organization. Academic coaching can also include tutoring services. This will help reduce any anxiety stemming from learning gaps due to the COVID-19 pandemic or existing learning challenges.


Life Skills Coaching

Students will receive life skills education through career planning, budgeting, college counseling, and cultural/arts exposure to broaden the perspective of each participant.


Relationship Building Skills

Students will receive relationship building skills to help with their interaction among their peers, and aid in them establishing and maintaining positive relationships. Students will also learn how to make positive decisions with their established and future relationships.


Peer to Peer Group activities

Our peer-to-peer group activities provide youth with positive, fun, and intriguing exposures in a small group setting. They are able to learn appropriate social cues and interactions, while being supervised by a mentor guide.
